Strike forces are groups of units which move together on the world map in the Global Conquest mode. The game provides a set of default strike forces, but players are able to compose their own. A strike force can only use units that belong to a single subfaction. The AI has a set of special strike forces that are not available to the human player by default.
Strike forces can move and attack in areas that are within their range. GDI and Nod strike forces can “teleport” between ports, while Scrin ones can do so between wormhole ends (which they have to create first). When near allied bases, strike forces can be repaired and upgraded. If a strike force has an MCV (and $6000) or Drone Ship (and $8000) in its ranks, it can be ordered to build a base, which lasts 1 turn. They can be decommisioned with a fraction of their initial cost returned to the player in the same way buildings are sold in the standard RTS mode.
The more corners the strike force icon has, the larger it is. The sizes are: Ultra-Light, Light, Medium, Large, Ultra-Large.
Alongside the usual cost in credits, each unit in a strike force has its cost in points set depending on the type it belongs to. A single strike force can have units which add up to a maximum of 50 points. Below is the run-down of general unit point counts:

- Tier 2 vehicles/aircraft: 2-3 points
- Tier 3 vehicles/aircraft: 3-4 points
